Instead of doing what I am actually supposed to be doing this week… I played around with Illustrator some more:

in a way I guess it’s good because I need more practice, but on the other hand there is a ton of stuff I need to take care of. Specifically I need to work on 1) actual school work and 2) comics…

In other news, I’m going to be heading out to the Joliet Historical Museum tomorrow.
My lovely friend Harvey (who was my model for the snow white project) is an intern in their collections department and will be sorting through a menacing pile of old wedding dresses.
Obviously I’ll be there for emotional support.
I’ll try and grab a few photos of things to post here.
See you on Thursday.

Friday posts seem to be suffering the most with the way my current schedule works…
maybe if I move them to thursday I’d actually do them?
because I’m procrastinating, here’s a look at what I’m working on:

it’s for my “digital illustration” class… which oddly has very little to do with illustration…

the class should be renamed “advanced digital manipulations and layouts” or something.
as you can see the theme for my photos is Snow White, I used my lovely friend harvey to play all the parts…
I have a lot of work to do yet… like 6 more pages or so… ugh

Painting is overrated! Seriously!
Here’s the next monster I’m working on…


I haven’t come up with a name better than “the pink monster” yet…

That’d be a stellar band name… now if only i could play music…
Also check out my hospital approved painting scrubs:

They’re perfect for when I’m preforming emergency art surgery, or for keeping warm on these cold chicago nights…
also they keep me from getting my civvies messy when working with acrylic:
I have 3 8×8 canvases to paint… wish me luck kids!
I haven’t painted in acrylic since my BFA show…

As I mentioned once before, I lurk on Conceptart.org and occasionally sketch their Chow themes in my sketchbook.
They recently had one called the Morrigan for which I did this sketch

Then I tried to do some digital painting…

Man, I haven’t felt like updating on a sunday in forever!
More monster progress…
The Hill monster is resembling more of an island these days:

There are going to be 2 more monsters in the series… I haven’t figured them out quite yet, but I’ll cross that bridge when I get there, and if the bridge is out I’ll doggy paddle.
